This is sad. A first year student of the University of Education Winneba, Ghana has taken his own life after his name was published on the notice board as having failed in three courses, which according to the school rules meant his withdrawal from the institution.
Wilson Dabuo, the president of the Students Representative Council of the University of Education, Winneba spoke about the school rule saying;
“If you fail in three subjects you would be advised to go home; two subjects you would be put on probation.”
The student who has been identified as Solomon Obeng was discovered hanging from a rope dead, in an uncompleted biulding as early as 1am on Friday morning.... May his soul RIP. Amen!
