Below is the full detail of what Tonto Dikeh said:
“Hmmmm, looking back and all I can say is Lord I thank you for talent of life. It wasn’t easy sometimes and seemed like the end of the world, and sometimes I sit back and ask God why me? And sometimes I used to say why was I not born abroad because I used to think money fell from tree over there. University life was sooo hard for me. I couldn’t afford to buy books and handouts and beg people for money just to eat!
Then I will get second hand jeans from the market which is usually oversized and will cut it to my size and say it’s rugged jeans just to avoid the shame. I will ask friends for favor. However, before they help me, they will ask me to do something for them like cleaning their room, helping with their assignments just to get money to eat.
I never allowed that to pull me down and still continued through university till I graduated with 2nd class in engineering! Finding a job was the next big task and I had to move from place to place until one day I came across a poster that read “BE THE NEXT MOVIE STAR” and I applied. Thank God they called me and I was shortlisted for a reality show. Although I didn’t win, the rest is history because it began my journey in movies.
So know that you can make it. You can also do the same. Life is full of HARD TIMES but never let it break you down. Never give up. Fight for what you believe because God has a special plan for you!
This is my life story. Hope to read yours someday.”
Her sister Orobo however disagrees and claims Tonto is lying for fame:
“Biggest liar of the year. You want to be relevant, look for other ways. Don’t try to put across to the world that our father wasn’t capable. That man would die for all of us.
Stupidity at it’s peak. I could go to the press and reveal who you truly are but I’m too grown up for that. Don’t bring down the family by taking trash. We had the best life any child could wish for.”
Surely, one of them is telling the truth and the other is lying.
